I know everyone has different opinions and tastes, but check out my blog on instrumentals and which ones I feel are the best of the past 50 years or so.

If you disagree (which many will, I'm sure), instead of pointing out how "flawed" the list is, just post your favorites!

Link is legit, might take a closer look and discuss later.

Yea, I thought that might come up. He's amazing, but I don't love his stuff as much as Vai, if we're talking guitar virtuosos. To each their own, I suppose.

That's because 5 minute guitar solo =/= instrumental song

Moby Dick before Lenny? No thanks...

Also, you should listen to some King Crimson and chuck some in there.

Moby Dick and Lenny are one spot apart, inter-change them if you like.

Which songs are King Crimson's best in terms of instrumentals?

My bad people. It's just that I have had my fair share of accidents with tinylinks <.<

Personally I wouldn't have Moby Dick in there at all. It's a fun riff but beyond that it does nothing for me.

As for KC, look into the Larks' Tongues in Aspic songs there are 4 parts (some in smaller parts themselves).
Also worth hearing IMO are Dangerous Curves, Red and probably more off of their older albums, but I prefer the more recent stuff.

The Brazillian by Genesis is a pretty good instrumental.
