What does the pit think of them? I suppose this is mainly directed at American pit-dwellers, but what do you think of this group, or really, this loose coalition of groups that seem to be having a big effect on our politics these days?

About sums it up, as well as what leeb said.

EDIT:

Dislike your poll options. Three accept them as valid. One is just asking for conservatives to lampoon anyone who votes it as a bleedin' heart libural.

I thought this would be about an actual tea party, with scones and various other baked goods.

what do I think about tea partiers... it's a clever name. I don't really know how appropriate it is, though.

They're a bunch of idiots criticizing a system that they really do not understand simply because their News network has told them to do so and rallies behind their cause.

They're all just Glenn Beck fanboys. They'll fade away with time and not leave any lasting impressions because of their terrible PR, out of touch roots, a lack of a true agenda (besides opposing everything Obama does), and the fact that they constantly cross the line when it comes to racism. I ignore them.

90% of people left and right lack an in depth understanding of the system they criticise (myself included here). Not really a fair criticism.

lolnah.

It's "Really for", "kinda for", "neutral" (by implication, probably pretty thick or clueless), and then "I'm a ****ing idiot who reduces entire political movements to one patronising insult".

I disagree with everything they stand for, but I don't think they're all racist old white men. And how racist is that, anyway?

Both of those deal with defense which the tea party supports. i'm fairly certain the DoD has more contracts than any other division of the government. not saying i support the tea party, just get your facts straight

the vast majority of the Tea Party 'movement' is made up of misguided, ignorant, brain-washed followers of a batshit insane few and held together by certain news networks who use this almost cult following to their advantage as a captive audience, which then makes them broadcast more and more retarded things. vicious cycle really.

meh, that's my bad then. i meant uncertain as in, "I don't think this movement is good for the country" and I made the last one what it was largely because, in my IRL conversations with people about this, thats usually the 1st thing they say

This is one thing that the Tea Partiers refuse to accept: the government actually doing something requires money, which needs to come from taxes, so asking the government to do more comes hand in hand with raising taxes.

I decided to stop by a Tea Party rally at my college, and the head speaker said that we needed to demand:
-lower taxes
-lower tuition

Except for the university cutting hundreds/thousands of jobs, there is no way for both of those things to work out without doing major budget reworking (which needs to be done mainly at a state level).

Also, 96% of Americans are seeing lower taxes now than when Obama hadn't been sworn in yet. The Tea Party ignores that statistic, because without it, they lose half their platform.

Well, we shouldn't be doing that. Free trade and open borders, and we shouldn't be interveining in other countries affairs like we do.

And who do you think gives the factories contracts that keep Amuricans in jobs?

I don't see where your going with this. Are you trying to say all American factories just make things for the military?

Right now taxes are lower, but how will healthcare and the financial reform that just passed be funded without raising taxes. The IRS has already come out and said they won't be able to come anywhere near being able to regulate all the things they're supposed to from the healthcare reform with a huge expansion of their budget and staff.

So why is he supporting the Tea Party if he supports lower taxes and small govt.

Free trade, eh? So presumably, no agricultural subsidies? No massive defence budget?

1) Amurica would collapse.
2) No-one could get elected on that platform. See: the response to banning deep-sea oil drilling in the midst of the Gulf crisis, in towns dependent on oil platforms for jobs.
3) The Tea Party have nothing to do with that.

And yah. The military is responsible in a big way for Amurica's economic power.
