Looks to be a custom Ibanez RG series or some kind of custom ESP/LTD.

Hi. Can someone tell me which guitars are real 24 fret guitars and which are just 22 fret guitars with 2 extra frets added on?

Well seeing as how Jim is sponsored by Fender, it appears to be a Strat he had custom made.

it's probably a custom jackson soloist, he used them before he went to fender

Not an Ibanez. I'm pretty sure its a custom Jackson Soloist, Jim had one with the 'Root' inlay like that one has.

This is an old picture, long before he was sponsored my Fender. But I would say it's a Jackson.
