ive been invitied into a band as a bassist (im a guitarst) and after some sessions (where i borrowed a bass...were just some friends) i feel that i need to get a bass. all i want is a squier and i think i will get the p-bass special.

is it any good?
my budget is max 300 euro (but thats pushing it)
i play rock (alt, classic, grunge), blues, funk and maybe some lighter metal.
ive heard some quality problems with it...when im at the shop trying it out should i look for anything
are there any suitable replacment pickguard as it is chrome (not really a problem but not my first choice of colour)

thanks

Imo, squier is what you can get with that price, so a squier special sounds alright.
But DO NOT buy the squier affinity shit. Don't.

near me a squier affinity is 200. the special is 250 so i figured it would be better to get that.

there is pretty much everything next to me so any other models in that price range would be good
