^^ That's what I'm trying to play, all sixteenth notes at 180 BPM. I was wondering, what notes should I pick and what should I hammer on/pull off to make it smoother and faster?

Try using some sweeps. If that doesnt work. Just do up down up down.

your best bet is using one pick per string, all hammer on's and pull offs where possible , so basicly what he said above, sweeping.

I've never heard of it. But Ironically, my highschool sports teams were known as the Logan Berries.

I know that you sweep it, I just mean, should I pick on the strings with more then one note or which ones should I hammer on etc.

Sweep. Slow it down A LOT and figure out the best path keeping in mind that you'll have to do it fast.

I'd legato all the extra notes on strings except where they're at the beginning or end of a particular sweep motion.

Beyond the Dark Sun! I play it like this with sweeping:

D-----------------------15-17p14----------------14-19p15-----------
A--------------------17----------16----------16----------17--------
F-----------------16----------------17-14h17----------------16-----
C-----------14h17----------------------------------------------17--
G--------14--------------------------------------------------------
D--12h15-----------------------------------------------------------

D--------15-20p17----------------17-19p15---------------15-18p15-----
A-----17----------19----------19----------17---------17----------17--
F--16----------------20-17h20---------------16----16-----------------
C----------------------------------------------17--------------------
G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------

D--------------15-19p14------------------------
A-----------17----------16----------16h19-17~--
F--18-15h18----------------16----16------------
C-----------------------------16---------------
G----------------------------------------------
D----------------------------------------------

I find it easier to hammer on or pull off the last two notes before I continue sweeping because it means I have to sweep less and alternate pick more. I also play the fourth note up a string on the 14th fret so I can just sweep up instead of making an awkward 14h19.

^+1. That's how I'd play it.

Junior's usually at least a little terse, but he knows his stuff. I've always read his posts in a grouchy grandfather voice, a grouchy grandfather with a huge stiffy for alternate picking.
Besides that, he's right this time. As usual.

Thanks I'll try that.
