Listen HERE

Hey guys,

I'm just getting back into the flow of things, this is my first song on here since January!

Its inspired partly by one of my idols Nick drake.

I'm hoping to find a Cello player and a friend of mine is going to do harmony at some stage.

The mix needs work, less high air freqs when the vocal come in and need to remaster.

All critiques will be greatly recieved!

Many thanks

Dave

Beating Drums

Our hearts are beating to the sound of distant drums
They lead us astray from the weight of the world to overcome

Oooh Love I never quite worked it out
Oooh Love I never quite worked you out

Tonight we stand alone among the stars
Just two lost souls standing afar

We feel so small under the weight of the blood red sky
And thunders coming, clouds are darkened for us to defy

Oooh Love they never quite worked it our
Oooh Love we never quite worked you out

Tonight we stand alone among the stars
Just two lost souls standing afar

Your link is no good, here is a fixed one: http://www.davegerardmusic.com/?section=bio

EDIT: Now, to your song: It sounds very professional and you have an excellent voice. I do think, however, that the guitar isn't loud enough. And the bottom end of a cello would complement the rest really well, so I look forward to listening to the song with that.

The melody and chords following the chorus are very pleasant sounding. As are the other melodies, for the verse and chorus.

Give mine a listen if you want: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?p=24765018#post24765018
