I've got an old 60s/70s Japanese Les Paul copy which has pretty rubbish pickups. The guitar itself is great, beautifully made and sounds brilliant until you plug it in...

From a build I'm working on I've got a few spare pickups, one of which is an Epiphone humbucker, meant for the bridge position. It's spare because I prefer the neck sound so used that pickup on my build.

What I want to know is whether there using the Bridge Pickup would sound OK in the neck position. I've heard that the bridge pickups are designed to have a higher output and counter some of the treble sound, so I'm not sure if it would sound right at the neck in my Les Paul....

Any thoughts?

I could, I'd just rather not mess around with it any more than I need to, I don't want too many chances to get it wrong
