ive had a wireless router for a while that was plugged into the phone line and it worked fine. now i have internet through the cable instead of the phone line, so the internet comes through an ethernet cable rather than the phone line cable. the only internet input on the router is fitted for the phone cable. is there any way to use this router with the cable internet or do i need a different kind?

Will a cord for cable plug into a phone cord input?

No.

You need a new router.

You need a different kind.

Cable routers and DSL routers are different, and the "phone line" router won't be able to handle the cable speeds. Get an N router.
