I'm the only guitarist in my punk/rock band, and sometimes we sound a little empty without the extra umph a second guitarist would provide, for example in a song's chorus. Is there an effects pedal that would give me a fuller sound when i need it? Cheers.

BBE Sonic Stomp Maximizer maybe. Most just leave it on the whole time though.

Otherwise, try an EQ pedal in front of the amp, and also try it in the loop;
Ibanez RGR421EXFM, Michael Kelley Vex NV, Ovation Celebrity. Carvin V3
Peavey 412M w/Eminence Wizards & Swamp Thangs, Rocktron Hush Super C, Furman PL-8C,15 band EQ, Boosta grande, ISP Decimator, Dano EQ, Ibanez TBX 150,TC Elec Polytune

A boost pedal - possibly one that "colours the sound", in a good way. Maybe a tube screamer or OD. Go pedal hunting at your local!!

Sumer Metal Driver
Ibanez RGD2120Z
AMT SS-11B

I actually do this myself quite often:

add an echo/delay, put the delay time near 5-15 ms, and allow it to repeat once or twice, combined with some chorus most of the time but I guess you can do it without it as well.

but in your case, maybe you could just boost your volume when needed?

Stop highlighting my signature!!

Overdrive pedal, ever so slightly. It can make a world of a difference.

By high-gain I don't mean stupid stuff. I just mean styles like Motley Crue or Iron Maiden

All the above is pretty good advice but to get the band sound better when you go into a solo, hit the bassist and drummer around the ears and tell them to fill in better behind you. This really works well in conjunction with a little delay or chorus.
