when recording with the muti-band stereo imaging on,do i still need to dual track the guitar since the program is giving it the stereo effect?

Yea, that would be better. I always double track, it allows you to fill the space alot more. If you don't like the sound you are getting you can always mute the track anyway.

Stereo imaging only increases your stereo image. It doesn't take your track and clone it. it essentially can make it sound like your sounds are coming from beyond the righ and left of your speakers, however use it with care as too much can suck the middle of your mix right out.

And yes. Always double track guitars.
