May I not Die
Where the Wind Blows
Where the nights Run Cold
under the lone star
in a tombstone

May my travels Take me West
Under the moon with a ghost in my bed
and through the mountains in the river
anywhere you'll lay your head

and you'll tell it to the mountain
and you'll tell it to the skys
you'll tell it to the forest
you'll tell it to the wise

you tell it to the water
and you'll tell it the cold
you'll scream it to the cowards
and you'll sing it to the bold

those who leave their homes
to travel to their death
will be wearing crowns of silver
and dragging boots of lead

and the ghosts now that roam the plain
mark the spot where my body lays
for the one who tears are shed
on the lone youths dying bed

May I not Die
Where the Wind Blows
Where the nights Run Cold
under the lone star
in a tombstone

Man, I like this. The imagery creates a mood (well for me anyway) that is sombre and a little tense. Is the line "Where the Wind Blows" an

Iron Maiden reference by any chance?

and what is it about?
