Yesterday I ordered one of those old vintage Peavey Classic VT's from the late 70's/early 80's and I had a question about turning it on, it has a solid state preamp but a tube power section but there's no standby switch, it's just a 3 way switch on the back similar to a mesa rectifier's rectifier selector switch with down being off and on the left and right sides it says on, how would you warm up the tubes on this amp without any cathode stripping?

howya doin
just turn the amp on and off with the power switch

your amp must have a power tube rectifier and a solid state rectifier but you won't need to worry about that for powering on and off - just mess with the tonal differences. SS will have less sag.
