Hey guys, I play a Marshall MG30DFX (I know, not a very good amp) and there is a knob called "Contour" on it. I've always wondered exactly what the purpose of this knob is? I've never seen this on any other amps and wondered if anyone knew what it does?

Thanks

It's sort of like mids. You can go from high mids (Sharp/Classicish) to Sweeped mids.

Edit: I believe the idea is it shapes the contour of the EQ to either being like a hill or a hole in the ground.

Pretty much a re-labled "Scoop" knob.

It's kind of like the opposite of mids. Turning the contour up is like turning the mids down.

Sell your Valvestate to brainless 17 year old for mighty sums of dollars. Purchase a JMP for a pittance from a desperate seller. Masturbate to pictures of yourself and your new, real Marshall. Eternal glory awaits.
