I am going to be getting one of these two amps sometime in the near future.
I play pretty much anything but mainly metal/rock. Which one would turn out to be more versatile for me?
Thanks

The Triple X would be more versatile but the two sound very different. Just make sure you don't prefer the dark, middy overdrive of the 6505 before you buy the Triple X because of versatility.

the 6505+ has more balls to the wall metal tone, but the XXX or the 3120 (they're the same amp, the 3120 is the new version, new name, same amp) has a better clean and has a crunch channel as well as a lead

the lead on the XXX is very similar to the 6505+'s but has a little less punch to it, so the 6505+ has better leads, but worse cleans

Triple XXX? That's like 9 X's dude, very unnecessary.

Repetitious Repetition is Repetitive.

Also TS: Ppl posting above are right. You should try out both amps side by side if possible.

I did find that the XXX did lack a little ballage, and i need that. So i got a used 5150II for 600.

I really have no way to try out amps unless i drive for about 3 hours.
I pretty much have to go by forums and youtube vids.

They're in the same price range, so either buy used locallly or save up then drive out there and decide.

Both are quality amps, you just have to decide if you want versatility or BALLS.

I have a XXX but never tried 6505+. I love the tones I gt out o my XXX. It has great cleans and great distortion. If you only want a metal amp with a dark middy tone then a 6505 is your choice.
