So, I'm writing a song about my Childhood. For summer school. Its a memoir assignment and you have to present something, a painting or something, even a song. I havent written a song in a while, so i might as well.

Problem is: My childhood sucked. It had its happy moments but it was pretty lame. Well i had a lot of parent problems and such...

Anyways, can someone help me with ideas about how to go about writing this song? Or am I a complete idiot for asking. Just kinda need help.

What's wrong with writing about the bad stuff? And if you're really having trouble writing about your childhood, maybe write about something else?

If neither of those are options, just concentrate on the happy parts. Expand upon them, like the hope they gave you, or how great they were, I don't know.
