So, i am planning on getting a new guitar in the near future(likely a les paul standard or studio). I intend to use this guitar for a wide variety of tunings from 2 steps down C standard to drop D. I plan on using a set of .12's, do you think that will be too thick for drop D when i tune up? Also what tuning should i set my truss rod up to compensate for all of this changing tension. D standard? or should i set it up for C standard and just not keep it in drop D for very long, in fear of bowing the neck?

Thanks in advance for anyone willing to give their opinion and advice!

i use 12s on my tele for standard, cuz i love the beefy tone. its fine, just make sure you adjust your neck

It's all about the abalone. You can't play metal without it. Mother of pearl? MOTO? GTFO!
