When my HK Tube 25th Anniversary switches to the Drive Channel, I need to hit my guitar strings a lot harder to get any kind of decent tone out of it. I don't know if drive channels are supposed to do that, or whether its an amp problem, but is there any way of fixing it?

Raise pickup height?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I hadn't thought about that, but surely if the pickups were the problem, then the clean channel would also be affected, and the clean sounds great.

I've tried adjusting the volume, but there isn't a change.
The clean volume is at a good volume, but the lead channel at the same volume has the problem aforementioned.

I feared it might be something like that. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no grasp on how amps are put together!
Is this something that is easily rectifiable? I've only had the amp 3 weeks, and it's the first tube amp I've ever owned. Am I right in thinking that there'll be one tube for clean and one for drive? Is it possible to do it myself?
