I am leaving soon to drive back to my hometown. It normally takes around 12 hours to make the 677 mile drive, but it will take a lot longer this time because I am being driven by my grandparents who stop every few hours for a nap.

So UG, what is the longest distance that you have ever traveled in one trip? Where were you going?

Something like 4 hours on a plane to the Canary Islands.

COYOTEDIT: Oh, we drove to Dublin to get the flight, so that was a couple of hours. Then I think it was an hour or so on the bus to get to the place we were staying.

Went on a coach ride that should have been ~3 hours. Massive delays and we sat still for hours. I didn't know a single person on the coach and was dying for a piss. Bad times were had.

that sucks man. If I had to stop every couple hours on a long ass trip so my grandparents would have a nap I would probably turn funny colors and start shitting bricks.

Why don't they trade off and one sleeps while the other drives?

By car: Laurel, Maryland to Orlando, Florida.

Long ass ride was long, it was almost 800 miles.
#19
Overall: Connecticut to Les Diablerets, Switzerland. Don't remember the time.

Strictly by car: Central CT to Baltimore, MD. I've made it a few times, the longest took around 8 hours I think, 'cuz we were going like 35mph on the Jersey Turnpike.

In a car. Halifax Nova Scotia to Owosso Michigan.

About a 24 hours drive more then once. Not really that fun.

Northampton - Bordeaux is meant to take about 12 hours, but it's taken us at least 16 hours every time we've done it. I think that's a combination of getting lost and sleeping, which is annoying because my parents have always found it appropriate to wind their seats all the way down, so I'd have no room at all.

I've driven across Canada a few times over the decades. 6,000 kms.
]
However, for endurance it's the road from my town up to Inuvit on the Arctic ocean...only 3.400 kms but most of it on gravel and dirt roads. Then a 2 day boat trip to the geology research camp.

My wife and I sometimes swing down the BC to California coast...across arizona into New Mexico...into northern Mexico and then swing up through colorada, Wyoming etc. back to Alberta. ...7,000 kms or so but done over a month.
