yeah. but it's not a marshall clone.

yeah go for it, but mod that mofo out. like tube swaps, etc. put some JJ's in it, because it's incredibly fizzy and trebly, the darkness should balance it out.

I cant speak for the bugeras, but i have a windsor, and its great..for gain/distortion that is. If you want cleans, stay away. The distortion is very good, and I tighten it up with an overdrive pedal and it sounds very good. I get compliments on my tone a lot (by people who actually know what theyre talking about). Just see if you can get a different cab, as the peavey one is nothing compared to a good marshall or mesa. (check avatar cabs). My only complaint about it is there is no reverb, so you gotta get a pedal if you want that.

TS FAIL!

someone needs to close this thread if he has those amps, esp the Nitro and is looking for a Marshall sound

Maybe he's just looking for a better low-mid gain sound?

^Thats a though to consider. Thing is the OD1 on Nitro is a low mid gain sound. The most it can do is like a Van Helen

you should trade your nitro for a el34 quickrod. with a halfpower switch.
the traditional marshall tone is all about power tube distortion. you can get that on the quick rod by opening up the master volume all the way and putting the gain at noon.

since you can't do that due to the noise you're going to need an amp that's less then 5 watts or a 20-30 watt amp that you can attenuate. Keep in mind though that most single and 2 output tube amps are either a. single ended or b. class a so they will not sound like marshall when they distort.

getting that tone at bedroom levels is not an easy task. and it's not a cheap task. This is the only amp I know of that does it well.

It runs 2 tubes in class a/b with power scaling

Peavey VTM, can usually be found for between $200-250, great JCM 800 Clone, except it uses 6l6's instead of el34s. much better than a windsor. Listen to any soundgarden album for a sample

For a cheap Marshall tone, I'd go Blackheart.

Blackheart BH100H Hot Head. 100 watts of classic British crunch on the cheap.

For a higher-gain Marshall sound, Peavey VTM. 60 or 120 watts depending on what you need.

I think the Windsor, VTM and Blackheart are all good low cost Marshally amps.

The Tweaker is not a Marshall clone but with EL34s in it it is pretty close.

Why not try EL34s in your Nitro first and run the gain low like those other guys were saying? You should also be able to run at half power on the Nitro. Pull two tubes, cut ohms in half and rebias.

PS: Guys, his Nitro is for real. He wouldn't post on the Splawn boards about his Nitro if he didn't have one.
