As the question says really, I don't have enough money for a 5150, or 6505+ so I'm getting a 6262. I was just wondering with an OD, how close would the Bugera come close to the metal/hardcore tones of the 5150/6505+. I'm guessing pretty close as the Bugera are modelled off them, but I just wanted to know how close.

I dont think its usually the sound that is the problem with the Bugera's..
What usually gets ppl is the reliability.

IMHO, You're better off buying a used peavey than a bugera. Got my 5150II for $600 and no complaints.

anyway...

Another one of your bugera/peavey threads? Christ. :/

Oh and

[EDIT] I'm beginning to think you're just making these threads for the sake of it. What else do you need to know?

You can't afford a peavey, so you're getting a Bugera. With all the youtube videos and whatnot around I'm sure you can establish that for yourself, even if the sound doesn't 100% reflect the sound of the amp.

I've seen you on other threads defending the Bugera and even going as far as saying it was better than the peavey so why are you making this thread? If you truely want a peavey then save up and buy one. I'm sick of these pointless threads to be honest.

all will tell you the resonance knob the peaveys have are VERY important.
you cant get as much bass or raw oopmh with the Bugera..its a fact.

definitely doesn't sound exactly like the 5150, it has it's own tone which is similar to the 5150. If I wanted it to sound exactly like the 5150 I would get a 5150(which I did).

Not saying that the bugera is bad though, like I said, it has its own tone, some like it, some don't. I personally liked the 1960 and 1990 a lot better than the 6260/62 when I tried all of them, but the 62 series definitely has more gain on tap.

Also I got my 5150 for $400, and i've seen used buggies go as cheap as $300 used, and the buggies go for aroudn $450-500 new if i'm not mistaken. the price difference really isn't that much to be honest.

Honestly, Bugeras sound like crap, imo, and despite having all of the "reliability issues" of the original run fixed they are still fairly unreliable.

If you want the Peavey tone then save up and get a Peavey.
