Hey UG,

so last night i was told by someone on here that..

I could put my POD 2.0 to this pedal:
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Electro-Harmonix-22-Caliber-Power-Amp?sku=582993

and go from that pedal into a marshall cab.

this is totally possible right?? and am i going to get any volume out of this setup?

THIS IS ONLY TIL I CAN SCROUNGE UP ENOUGH MONEY TO GET A GOOD GIGGING HAIR METAL AMP just keep that in mind

Yeah it will work. 22 watts of SS crappiness but sure it will work as a stopgap measure. Handy little gadget to have in the toolbox too. You never know when a roady is going to destroy somebody's amp.

could you recommend a good amp to get? playing mostly rock and hair metal. no more than 1000$$

Yep it will work but it wont get too loud. Not loud enough to play a gig unless you mic the cab.

peavey 5150 II or a 6505. Both of these are on ebay right now for under 1000 and you could buy a new 6505 for $900.

i need a good clean channel too
will the peavey work for that?

I have a 5150II, and the clean channel on its own isn't great. But add some reverb, chorus, and a touch of delay with the pre gain turned down low and the treble down you can get some great clean tones out of it.

Add chorus, reverb and delay and you call it clean? You sir have a different idea to me as to what constitutes clean.
If you can afford it have a look at a Laney VH100R. That does have a good clean channel as well. Very nice amp.

To be fair the original poster does play hair metal where the clean sounds do tend to have lots of chorus and delay etcetc.
Although a better choice for hair metal a marshall jcm800 based setup or ADA MP1 into a poweramp type setup. I don't know much about the prices of marshalls in the USA though.

Canada my good man canada. thanks guys. im ging to look for a suitable marshall head

For hair metal I would go with the XXX vs the 5150. Better cleans, and its brighter too, which IMO works better for hair metal then the darkness of the 5150.
