Just did a new instrumental. It's a little more rock oriented I guess. I've been messing with some different time signatures, and this one is entirely in 5/4. I didn't put much work into the drums, I just needed something to back the guitar tracks. The song is about drifting in and out of depression. The song is on my profile, and it's called 'Back Again'. C4C of course. Please leave a link for me to crit back.

You, good sir, have not gone over to your friends house after a hard night of drinking to find 2 dudes passed out in the same room both holding their own flaccid cocks in hand, passed out, with porn on the tv.

Nice song...like the guitar solo. Not much else to say about it haha. Perhaps turn it into a song with vocals could be interesting - the chord progressions make a good song.

----> does this face look like hes not enjoying? I dont think so.
for slow melody songs this one is pretty epic. only problem is teh drums
like you said. i would say too progress it and more technicallity to your playing.
like sweeps or something like that
This is a MotherFxcking Invatation

Heh, I've been trying to focus more on melodies. It seems to me like sweeping is my 'go to' technique, so I'm trying to break the habit of doing it so much. I think I'm going to expand on this some more and make it a longer song though. Only time will tell. Thanks for the crit, I appreciate it!

RisingForce,
The clean guitar sounds good except for some odd unwanted high frequency rumbling sound, not sure what it is. Clean guitar playing & melody is very good. I really like the lead guitar notes & tone! The song feels like it needs vocals in parts though. I think it has potential to be something special with some more work. Please review my music that I just posted yesterday at this link:

Thanks for the crits everyone! Aaron, I'm fairly certain the noise is coming from my acoustic, since I use a screw on pickup for it, so that's probably what's causing it.

Ok cool, this is a good track, good melody with the lead and the tone is solid. Like Primal said this tune is beggin for some vocals, which is interesting because as a whole it's very Johnny Cash-ish.

Comments on the mix-
You have some high freq fuzz going on that I'll assume is from you're acoustic mic but that's not a huge deal.

For as low as your lead is in the mix I'd like to hear some more mids to help make it cut through.

Drum levels are pretty decent, nothing crazy going on which is always good.

Overall man it's a strong piece, just need to tweak a few things on it. If you are interested you can email me the separate tracks and I can give it a go with a mix and master and explain to you bit by bit what I did to change the sounds. In any case man, take it easy, keep up the good work

Thanks man. That would be great if you could mix the track. I'm always looking to improve my sound. I'm definitely going to wait to do that so I can get everything as perfect as possible.
