The riff with the Hendrix chord in The Crying Machine by Steve Vai. Shit's so cash.
The UG Awards exist only to instill me with existential doubt.

For me, the 60's ended that day in 1978...

Willies. Fuck the lick and fuck you too.

Four Year Strong write incredibly catchy riffs, pretty much every one of their songs has at least one badass riff in it.

My friends band recently supported a band called The James Warner Prophecies (none of the members are called James Warner, however), and one of their songs had such a catchy riff, similiar to the ones TS posted. The lyrics are also really funny, especially if you're from the UK, and have noticed the amount of people putting on accents, in their songs.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit". I didn't grow up with that song being omnipresent on the radio so I enjoy it more. *flameshield*

EDIT: Also! The song "Almacanter" by a local band called This Is Radiation (second song on the list here: myspace.com/thisisradiation) has a FREAKIN catchy bass intro riff that's amazing.

By high-gain I don't mean stupid stuff. I just mean styles like Motley Crue or Iron Maiden

Pretty much most Dream Theater riffs.

I just listen to them so much that they get stuck in my head and I love it.

Sounds typical of a prog listener to say, but a lot of other bands I listen to just shred or play ridiculous solos and stuff that are awesome, but not something that gets stuck in my head.

Pretty much the most badass riffs in metal history.

Intro for Act of God by Hacride.
Last half of Vacuity by Gojira.
Nectar by Opeth. All of it.

Usually I find metalcore bands like that to be pretty boring but those are some pretty badass riffs.

You'd probably like This or the Apocalypse.
