My laptop's hooked up to an amp I built myself (don't remember any of the specs), which is put through two old Sony speakers from an old home entertainment system of ours. The ol' setup does fine for my little room.
#15
Since moving I haven't set up my hifi yet so I am actually listening to music through my PA system. I am only using the 400W one, I thought hooking up the 1000W STK amp was a bit of overkill in my loungeroom - plus I would have had to set up all the bins instead of just one pair.

After much research on headphones, I decided to buy these, very happy I did... By far the cleanest sounding headphone I have ever heard. Blows some of my other headphones (a few which are a good $100 more expensive) out of the water.

I give you.... the AKG K240's!

Comfortable, light weight, and decent sound.
Sennheiser HD 238.

I'm getting some of these soon though.

50 euro's, but they blast quite loud. I've put the treble up nice and high so I get the most out of the tweeters. sub is OK too. for the price you won't get any better. I've got them wall-mounted so they don't vibrate, and they sound better that way too.

This. It's so good. Brilliant sound quality. 12 hour rechargeable battery, so it's awesome for taking down the beach for bbq. It's very loud. And you can choose whether you want it to charge your ipod or not.

Couple of M-Audio studiophile monitors, hooked up to a sub when im just listening to music.
Not very bassy on their own (hence the sub) but nice and detailed.

Are those monitors any good?

I'm in the market for a good pair of monitors.

I've got some Harman/Kardon speakers that look nice and sound okay and a pair of Samson headphones that look shit and sound good and some Maxell earphones that sound pretty good and look like any other in-ears. Music normally comes from my Sony turntable or my iPod.
#33
I have a good Sony 5.1 system for my computer, but if I need the most volume I just run it through my 4x12 cab. Sacrifices some sound quality but it's good for parties and such.
Guitar:
Jackson DX10D Dinky
Ibanez Tone Blaster 150w head
Line Six 4x12 cab
Marshall MG10CD
Dunlop Crybaby from Hell

Bass:
Ibanez ATK
Random ass EQ thing that's not even a real bass amp
1x18 2x10 cab

Stock Dell speakers that came with my computer.

Quad 909 power amp

Quad CDP/2 Integrated CD Player

Bowers and Wilkins 685s on loan from work until I get either:

Bowers and Wilkins CM5

or

Bowers and Wilkins Diamond 805

I'm also using:

Onkyo NDS1 digital only iPod dock, so I can use the CD player's inbuilt DAC

Bowers and Wilkins P5 headphones

Project RPM5.2 Turntable with Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge

And various Chord speaker cables/interconnects/toslink cables. If I get the Diamonds I may consider biamping with another 909.
