What are your favourite awesome action films? Like the best of the best? I'm out on the buy and well frankly I know nothing about films other than the last one I watched was shaun of the dead and that was a bloody long time ago , I wanna watch a really good action movie, something thats really mind numbingly unthinkably awesome, maybe even two. What can the pit advise?

EDIT: Anything like Action, but not nothing like Romance or Horror..

Hot Fuzz. Just put the end shoot out on repeat for two hours and your penis will grow at least 5 inches.

Or, Lethal Weapon Day. A man is not a man unless he sets aside days in his year for:

"Taken" is a pretty awesome action film. Better than I expected

The man speaks the truth, never thought Liam Neeson could be so badass!

Totally forgot about the Rambo films, and i feel like less of a man for it!

Agreed. Liam Neeson makes every film great. Has anyone seen the new A-Team yet by the way, I'm going to see it tomorrow night.

The Pianist has some pretty intense scenes, although it isn't really an action film.

Lethal Weapon Day

Damn right. One of the best series of movies in existence.

Also..

Not necessarily an action film, but it's more intense than most action movies.

Actually that last sentence can be used in response to almost all questions regarding movies. It also works if you replace Bruce Willis with Clint Eastwood.

OT: All of Clint Eastwood's western movies and Watchmen come to mind. The Spider-man movies, Dark Knight, and the Iron Man movies are also good choices. TBH I haven't seen many great action movies. When they're good they're one of my favorite genrest, but a lot of them just look stupid to me and I avoid them

STARSHIP TROOPERS

Did anyone else think the Starship Troopers sequels were really bad? I haven't seen number 3 though.

3 is better than 2. Number 2's biggest titsup though, is that the actress who plays the ship commander that gets killed by a door in number 1 returns in number 2 as a completely different character
