Go Laguna. BC Rich is great... If you get an NJ series, wich is outta your price range.

Out of those, the Laguna is the safest bet. Cheap BC Riches are to be avoided.

Also, here are a couple suggestions for good, solid quality guitars in your price range.

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-RG321MH-Electric-Guitar-620737-i1469849.gc

It's really important that you get out and play all the guitars in your price range, to make sure you pick something you like the feel of.

im not a B.C. Rich fan. not a laguna fan either, man i'm telling you, look around at used guitars too, you will get some amazing deals. new though, here are my suggestions.

http://www.guitarcenter.com/ESP-LTD-Viper-100FM-Electric-Guitar-516634-i1149003.gc

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Schecter-Guitar-Research-Omen-6-Electric-Guitar-101558112-i1149923.gc

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Jackson-JS32T-King-V-Electric-Guitar-584376-i1502363.gc

not a big ibanez guy, but if you go used, you can easily get a really decent schecter for 300$ i strongly advise going used.

BC Rich's low end from 5 years ago should be avoided, HMG (company that owns BC Rich) really has stepped up quality in the last 2 years. The masterpiece Bich is your best bet, from those choices.

Don't get an ESP, Ibanez, Jackson, or Schecter, everyone's sucking the cocks of those companies.

i have an ESP and i love the hell out of it, but BC Rich have kick ass guitars too, dont get me wrong, its just what your into i guess
Hell Yea Im Straight Edge!
ESP Eclipse II (or) Fender Strat w/David Gilmour EMGs > Cry Baby Original > Digitech RP250 > JOYO Ultimate Overdrive > MXR BLS Chorus > MXR Phase 90 > EHX Memory Toy > 1981 Marshall JCM800

With only $300, he won't get anywhere near an ESP, or any decent BC Rich.

Check Amazon's closeout guitars...usually some really good deals if you watch it daily. Their prices will fluctuate quite a bit. It will drop stupid low usually when 2 of any guitar are left....then shoot back up when one sells.

For example: http://www.amazon.com/Dean-Vendetta-Electric-Guitar-Classic/dp/B00154O2EU/ref=sr_1_27?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1280756462&sr=1-27

That's a LOT of guitar for only $260 (notice 2 left, when one sells it will jump). Neck through construction, REAL Floyd Rose, Grovers, Dean Time Capsule pickups (these are really nice, IMO). Normal price on these is $699 at MF, M123, etc....

Also, worldmusicsupply.com always has some nice closeouts....here's a pro-quality guitar for just $50 above your $300 point... http://www.worldmusicsupply.com/Washburn-X50-Pro-FE.html

im actually a gibson guy...yes they are over-priced, yes they can be shitty, but i love em. but i suggested jackson, schecter, esp because those guitars are good guitars. i mean B.C. rich looks cool in all but i hear a lot of people complaining about their guitars and i've herd little about jackson, schecter, and esp, other than the fact they are pretty decent guitars.

i think your sucking B.C. Rich's ****

What kind of Strat is it that it's a POS? Non-name copy, Squire, beat to crap MIM? Surely not a MIA Fender?
Moving on.....

Why don't you take a look at this

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Kramer-Pacer-FT211S-Electric-Guitar?sku=515338

Definetly one of the best guitars in your price range. Also you might want to take a look at some Samicks (ONLY if they have greg bennets signature on the head, everything made before that was shit)

Haha funny, , unless it's a guitar over $900 from any of those companies then it'll be good. Jackson and ESP's low end ones either use a foam/plastic hybrid to form they're bodies or with cheap plywood. The only way I'd even touch a Schecter is with a baseball bat.

I know a guy who repaints and repairs guitars, if I had anymore ability to care I'd post the pics. But then again, aren't all low end guitars low end for a reason?

not all low end guitars are bad. Rob Chappers, ML-1. very good. just need to swap pups and apparently the cheap humbucker that comes in it is wicked. but for the most part yea, low end are low end for a reason. although, my epiphone sg special 2, sounds surprising good.
