Saw this on the internet somewhere, it's basically either modern day feudalism or Stalinist Russia x10(it's supposed to be far-left or far-right but those descriptions are pretty wrong, especially for far-left, so I won't bother with labels).

Society A:

The state owns your toothbrush, and everyone brushes with the same state-brand toothbrush, at the same time, for precisely the same duration. Doctors get paid the same as janitors, and the unemployed. You all live in the same, bland, government housing, and there is no currency, only rations that you are allowed. Your feces is recycled and through some chemical process turned into the mush that you eat. Touching a tree is forbidden. You're not allowed to shoo a raccoon out of your state-owned apartment. There is no military, and we get bombed by some wacko country, and we surrender. If you attempt to design a new invention, the state owns your idea. If you attempt to perform music, your song is now owned by the state. You are told when and where and what you do with your mandatory vacation time. The state controls all media and programming, and censorship renders all pornography, swearing, and images of violence illegal.

Society B:

The military exists as a private mercenary force, employed by the Elites, the 1 percent of society which, through total control over the "free" market, a small cabal of owners have successfully purchased 99% of everything that can possibly be owned, raised interest rates, prices, and rent, and live off of the worker's productivity and threaten them with being fired if they don't meet their performance requirements. There is no worker's compensation, there is no social security or medicare. Those who do not work do not eat. Those who work are paid the bare minimum, and are forced to give up everything they have because rent and prices are so high. Drugs are sold by local businesses in unregulated fashion, and those without use them to escape from their awful existence. The Elites wish to own oil in the Pacific Ocean, but those Elites in China also want it, and war is declared. The have-nots are conscripted and sent to war where they die to satisfy the greed of the Elites. Religion is taught in poor private schools as fact, while the rich all attend private schools where they learn valuable skills.

Would be funny if B gets radically more votes, especially considering about 80% of people here claim to be liberal. *Waits for people to vote A because I pointed out its the liberal one*

I think I've seen this episode before............. It certainly seems familiar enough. Why would that be?

Sorry I just get annoyed when people act like the capitalist society we live in is oppressing us to the point of death and decay, particularly when they probably have nothing to complain about.

Society A seems more reasonable to me. Everything is provided, even if it is pretty shitty.

I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now High Chancellor. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.

With society A it seems like if you mad a zip-gun or sharpened a stick, you could overthrow the government, since there's no military. I'd prefer that one I think.

B is more exciting though, because you have a reason to rebel against society, and a means to.

Graphic novel speech >>>> movie speech, as awesome as it may be.
