Wow it looks pretty cool! There was a dude in the Jackson guitar owners forum who had an Aria guitar and he said it was good. Why don't you google around for reviews by Aria users?
Yeah

I've searched around a bit, and the general opinion is that Aria Guitars are pretty good if made in the eighties. This dude says it's from the eighties.

He's willing to trade with my Yamaha RGX A2, I just want to make sure I'm not making a bad deal here.

Better try to ask for serial number and track it to be sure about the year.. if you wanna be sure about that, that is.

Looks well preserved if it's the eighties.

Obvious questions:

- What brand is the FR system and how does it hold tuning?

- What are the pickups?

- The general nature of the guitar

- More close-up pictures (if you haven't alredy asked)

How do ya like the Yammy, why wanna trade?

I wanna trade the Yamaha because I never use it, it has lousy sustain and the strings are too far away from the fretboard imo, (that can probably be adjusted I suppose).
I never really got into that guitar basically.

My concern is, even if the Aria is in good condition (FR system and all), is my Yamaha in fact worth more than the Aria.

Looking on ebay only confused me more, the Aria Pro II sells for such diverse prices.

Basically I don't wanna end up trading a somewhat decent Yamaha, for a cheap ass shitty guitar.

Got some more info on the guitar:

The serial number is: 8120040
It says 'TRS 101' on the FR system
The pickups are the original ones and has Aria Pro 2 written on them.

Does any of this ring a bell to someone?

Any help is much appreciated, thanx.

It was made in 1988
TRS 101 is a Floyd Rose made by TRS tremolos it ranges for $115 by itself
Controls are one volume and one tone, and a 5 way selector. The tone knob can be pulled to use the humbucker as a single coil pickup.
The tremolo has a micro-tuning sistem.
I hope I helped.
Man I would love to get a guitar like that, I might keep searching.

Got it :-) Thanx everyone for advicing me to go along with the trade.
This is an amazing guitar, way better than the Yamaha imo.
The dude seemed as happy as me with the trade, so everybody wins :-)
