Hey could you guys recommend me a guitar and amp,

I'm wanting to upgrade my gear and create a simple rig (just guitar and amp) Looking at about £600-700 depending, I play metal/metal core/power metal and thrash. So versatility and being able to change tuning is a must.

I was looking into

ESP LTD V-350 and Bugera 6262 combo's. Would this be a wise move?

Doesn't the V-350 have a Floyd Rose?

If you change tunings a lot, then yes, it's a rather big one.

If you wanna switch tunings in less than an hour, yes.

I only change tunings at home, never beyond drop D and Standard when rehearsing and practising with my band.

Fail. First, that's not an ESP, it's an LTD. Second, there are way better LTD's than the EC series (imo), and I don't know why the EC's are the only ones that people seem to know of or care about. Oh wait, they're Les Paul shapes, that's why...

Anyway....

TS, changing tunings on an FR can be a real hassle.

If you're going to get one, make sure you have another guitar as well for other tunings, as you generally want to keep FR guitars in one tuning, unless you have a shitload of time and patience.

So, either have 2 guitars (one for each tuning, one preferably with a fixed bridge for possible other tunings) or just a fixed bridge.

I personally love Floyd Rose guitars, but I'm also fortunate enough to have a few guitars to play with. I don't know what your situation is.

Cause I'm selling EVERYTHING guitars, amps, pedals, my computer, my dvd collection. You name it. It's going for a new guitar and amp. Cause my gear is crap and I was wanting a simple rig so I don't need to keep spending random bits of money on gear I don't need.

hold on a momento. there are ESPs, and there are ESP LTDs. The later is cheaper and in the case of the ESP Eclipse and the ESP LTD EC-1000 they are the exact same guitar just made in different places.
Yes i did say ESP EC-1000, neglecting to add the LTD, but if a search is done it would bring up the ESP LTD EC-1000. the guitar i am recommending. Not a big deal.

And no, i didnt recommend 100% on looks.

EDIT:
bit outside my eventual range.

yeah i saw that as i reread the pricing. 2nd hand as mentioned above?

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. This is mine (I should have stated this before, my earlier outburst didn't help the TS at all, and I'm kind of ashamed. I was tired.)

TS, I wouldn't get an EC model, because they have a short scale length. If you're going to be changing tunings, you want a longer scale length. 24.75" is fine with Drop D, no problem, or even drop C with thicker strings, but if you change a lot, it's a lot less of a hassle if you have a standard 25.5" scale. There's more tension, and you don't need gigantic strings to keep from being floppy.

all good, i just assumed everyones brain functioned like mine when differeing between the two lol.
But looking at your gear your recommendations are probably worth more than mine,
example, you have 2 LTDs opposed to my 0. ive just played on a friends and a few at gc.

I've been offered a possibly trade, my Fender MIM strat for an Ibanez sz520. Is that a good trade? and then sell the rest of my gear for an amp?

I have a SZ520QM and consider to be as good or better than a MIM strat. Pricewise they are about the same.

Only if you think it is. Play the Ibanez and see if you like it more than your Fender. If yes, then yes, if no, then no.

I can't play it. Seeing as it's down in Devon but the specs of the neck etc seem similar to another ibanez I've fallen in love with.
