I've been Amp hunting for awhile Blackstar Mesa Boogie Orange even Peavys. I tried a marshall MA100C combo at a guitar center with a Les Paul Gibson Studio and it was godly except for the fact there was feedback adjusted a lot of the tonal controls and moved around a bit but still got the feedback. I played from Buckethead to Tool to some Jazz Improv, I went back to play and try it out some more to decipher if I was going to purchase or not, but it was gone :O. The question is simple is MA series a good affordable tube amp or should I save for something a little better?

I'd say save up. Personally, I hated the MA I played in my last trip to GC. IMO "MG with t00bz" is a perfect way of describing it.

I only tried the head (with matching cab) though, so I dunno if the combo is any better.

Sell your Valvestate to brainless 17 year old for mighty sums of dollars. Purchase a JMP for a pittance from a desperate seller. Masturbate to pictures of yourself and your new, real Marshall. Eternal glory awaits.

It's basically a crappy JCM900 IMO and you might as well get one of those for $500. I'd spend more time with some high end amps to get an ear for what sounds you like and then make your decision.

No, a lot sound better, it was just godly for the price.

What $799?

There are a lot better amps for that if you look used.

Edit: $749 plus tax, less any discount. the point stands...
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.
