Hey Guys,

So i've started jamming with a new band recently and we have two guitarists (myself and another). Most of my experience has been when i have been the lone guitarist. My question is when it comes to songwriting what kind of approaches do some of you take knowing that you have two guitarists to write for?

In the past i have simply come up with a phrase/progression/bass line and filled out all the other parts (ie Bass, drums).

Opinions UG'ers?

you could harmonise the two guitars, have one play backing chords while one plays melody, both play chords that work toghether
its really what ever you want to do

Two guitars is very, very common. You should be able to figure it out.
Marshall amplifiers are the truest purveyors of rock and roll known to man.

"And give a man an amplifier and a synthesizer, and he doesn't become whoever, you know. He doesn't become us."

Holy crap, check this out!

You don't say?
Just some simple voicing suggestions may have sufficed.
