Going to be buying a distortion/overdrive pedal tomorrow and i love the Blues Driver, is there anything else you guys can reccomend that's similar quality or better that would suit me?
Can spend about $150AU and i play anything from blues, jazz, rock, metal, prog rock/metal, etc etc.

Out of interest, why don't you just get a blues driver?

Because i don't want to be regretting buying it 2 months down the track and discovering something that would suit me alot better

I've decided to go for the Boss, why would i want to avoid going Boss? I think alot of the pedals they do are kick ass

Boss pedals are ok at best. Their dist pedals like the ds-1, mt-2, ml-2 etc suck. The only ones that are decent are their delay, looper, od-3, and a few others. The bd-2 is also good but u can do better for the price. Check out the ibanez ts-9 or the digitech hardwire cm-2. Also are u going to be using this for metal? It wont have enough gain and if u are thinking abbout using it to boost ur vox ad50vt, i dont think it's a good idea to boost a modelling amp...

nothing against boss, theyre perfectly good pedals. but there are better pedals than boss.

think of boss pedals as a driving range, you go to them to work on something, in this case its tone. once you find the tone you like using the boss pedals, you hit the golf course with your better sounding specialist pedals.

sorry, thats the dumbest thing ive ever said... but yeah, boss is good to see what effects you like, but theres much better out there.

The Blues Driver is one of the best BOSS pedals IMO. Modded, they sound even better.

If you're buying from Australia though... order from US eBay or something, don't buy it from a shop here, you'll save a bit of cash even after shipping.

whats your problem? You asked for a clone and i recommended one. Just cause its made in china doesnt mean it can sound good. If you want a Blues Driver (which i used to own) get one

I have both the BD-2 and Hardwire CM-2 and actually prefer the CM-2. The BD-2 sounds a bit harsher to me, while the CM-2 is warmer and more natural sounding.

I've since modded the BD-2 and although some of the harshness is gone, I still prefer the Hardwire CM-2. It's a great deal too, I paid $63 new at Guitar Center.

Yeah i have one of the hardwire distortions and theyre awesome, but theyre a little too much than what i wanted to spend. I ended up getting the blues driver and just mucking around with the settings, i just chucked the tone back nearly all the way and i think it sounds pretty bloody awesome
