hey guys, im most of the way through learning a song, but in one of the solos, theres a section which goes:

e/----17--15--12-----------12
b/--------------------17--15----

and this is repeated very quickly, but i just cant get it fast enough. on top of that, im finding it uncomfortable having my first finger on the 12th fret and my pinky and ring on the 17 and 15th fret, making pulloffs much harder than usual. any ideas on how i could improve my speed? sorry is this is too broad a question. thanks

Speed is the RESULT of practice, not it's goal. You can just practice it slowly, if you have long fingers, like I do, you don't even need to use a pinky here. Pull off aren't really that necessary, you could just alternate pick this whole lick.

Move the 12 down a string, so it becomes a 17
e/----17--15-------------
b/---------------17--17--15-17-
