So i was thinking about putting steel strings and pickups in my ukulele... Does anybody of you guys know the best steel string gauge for each of the strings? (G,C,E,A in standard tuning).
Im not sure if this is on the right forum lol... But this is my first post anyways...

not really. there isn't actually any building or modifying going on here. GG&A would be more appropriate.

If your uke came with nylon or gut strings, I don't recommend using steel. The increase in tension might cause your bridge to pull away from the body, cause the neck to warp, or some other disaster. Also, the lower strings are likely to exhibit intonation errors.

mbe if the steel strings are an extra light gauge, it might work, but i dunno.
