Arguably my favorite part of any movie , ever, is the part in Once Upon a Time in America where Robert De Niro buys a ticket for a bus as the song Yesterday by the Beatles plays in the background. It just makes the movie imo.

I also really like the bowling scene in the Big Lebowski where a version of Hotel California plays in the background.

What are some of the Pit's favorite uses of songs (not soundtrack) in a movie?

I thought John Williams' theme in Jurassic Park was amazing. And in Jaws. And Star Wars. And Indiana Jones.

The end used at the beginning of apocalypse now.

This and Counting Flowers On The Wall by The Statler Brothers in Pulp Fiction, for those who don't know it's from the scene where Butch is driving away from his apartment and runs into Marcellus again... then runs him over. It's the song that says "It's good to see..." just as Butch realises who's standing in front of his car.

If you want to watch 90 minutes of random shots of cityscapes set to dramatic minimalist classical music, Goddfrey Regio's Koyaanisqatsi works. Plus, if your friends see you watching it, they'll think you're "artsy".

I'd have to also say zombieland. For Whom The Bell Tolls just fit in so perfect with the slow motion sequence. Also, If you have seen The Collector, Dead Bodies Everywhere by Korn fits in well.

I agree with fight club.

This wasn't in a movie, but just listening to it sounds like it could set the mood perfectly for a movie. yes, the title helped me imagine it but even without it. French Movie Theme by Smashing Pumpkins.

I feel bad looking at porn simply because of the ol' story that a lot of those girls were molested as children, But I've never heard of midgets being molested, so it doesn't matter to me anymore, as that's the only kind of porn I watch.

Not sure if it counts, but the song the soldiers blare as the storm the coast in Apocalypse Now! is pretty awesome.

I would have never EVER expected that song to work as well as it did, but in the end I can't imagine anything else.

I really wish I could find a video of the scene but so far I have been coming up blank.

Kind of on the same subject, but the closing montage of this years Tour de France was set to Kings and Queens by 30 Seconds to Mars, and it was insanely sick...
