I'm looking for a decent and cheap halfstack. I'm not concerned atm with a head that comes with a million effects either, just the basics.

I have a 2009 Schecter Omen Extreme 6 w/ active EMG 81/85 pickups.

P.S Can anyone tell me the difference between a tube and a solid state?

Read the stickies, they explain everything.

What's your budget?

You could get an amazing assortment of answers to that question.
Marshall amplifiers are the truest purveyors of rock and roll known to man.

"And give a man an amplifier and a synthesizer, and he doesn't become whoever, you know. He doesn't become us."

Holy crap, check this out!

Preferred genre?

Schecter with actives, I am going to assume metal.

So, JCA20 combo with a tubescreamer

You also might get some posts that are completely useless.

You might want to look at the Bugera 6262 212 combo.

That's like, 650usd.

Outside of his budget, but not a bad idea.

He would also enjoy the, very heavy weight behind an all tube 2x12 combo.
