Is it okay to use sharpie paint pens on a nitrocellulose finish and then clearcoat with lacquer?
not sure, but i wouldnt do it unless your just writing some words, dont try to paint a ****in mural on it because youll accidently **** it up
I've experimented with all 3. The Sharpie I used was the water-based one, not oil-based.Is it okay to use sharpie paint pens on a nitrocellulose finish and then clearcoat with lacquer?
They're compatible! Initially, I thought the solvents on the new topcoat would cause the older layer to peel or end up in a mess. Didn't happen.
So, old Nitro, Paint pen, then Acrylic Lacquer would work.
I also discovered that Acrylic Lacquer or Polyester or Polyurethane, Paint pen, then Nitro would work, too.
Thanks a lot. No it's not much, just signing my name on the headstock.
