Is it okay to use sharpie paint pens on a nitrocellulose finish and then clearcoat with lacquer?

not sure, but i wouldnt do it unless your just writing some words, dont try to paint a ****in mural on it because youll accidently **** it up

I've experimented with all 3. The Sharpie I used was the water-based one, not oil-based.

They're compatible! Initially, I thought the solvents on the new topcoat would cause the older layer to peel or end up in a mess. Didn't happen.

So, old Nitro, Paint pen, then Acrylic Lacquer would work.

I also discovered that Acrylic Lacquer or Polyester or Polyurethane, Paint pen, then Nitro would work, too.
