The hardest part of being a band (in my opinion) is getting people to listen. There are so many bands out there these days and people get tired of hearing "hey check out my band we're awesome!". Getting people to pay to come to a show is even harder if you don't already know them.

But that's what the art of promotion is all about. What kinds of methods have you guys used in thre past that have had a lot of success?
I find its just the popular music today and how 90% of people only listen to it cause its #1 in the country
if you got killer stuff though you have to seek out people you know are a fan of the genre and had them a CD like if your at a school and your a metal band had a few demos over to the kids who are all wearing chains and metallica shirts
