I searched and didn't find anything so here's the deal. I'm taking a 30 hour road trip in a few months and I'm attempting to put together the best road trip music possible. I'm trying to stay with the classics because really, that's the only way to go.

So far I have Take It Easy and Hotel California by The Eagles, some Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Stones, Ozzy, Zep, GnR, Lynard Skynard, Steve Miller Band, Foghat, The Doors, ZZ Top, ACDC etc.

What road trip songs do you guys suggest? Even if I have the band I might have skipped the song so toss it out.

I usually listen to a ton of At the Drive-In and Portugal. The Man.

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Once, on a 7 hour drive to the mountain my iPod was plugged into the radio. This song came up on shuffle. Awkward silence ensued.
I can take a road that'll see me through.

I'd say pop in some Björk, Kings of Leon, Meshuggah, Tool, APC, Alice in Chains, Aphex Twin, Gigi D'Agostino, Buckethead, Safri Duo and Mana.

it's what I'd put on, anyways

Lady Gaga man.

Nah in all honesty I love listening to fast music when people are driving me somewhere. It usually consists of hardcore, metal or breakdowns. Yes breakdowns.

80's pop.

No, really. Its good fun.

This.

Nothing better than good old cheesy 80's pop and rock songs. Get some Duran Duran, Journey, ABC, Alphaville etc.

"Her name is Rio and she dances on the saaaand!"

EDIT: And don't forget Bon Jovi

This. Came into this thread just to say this.

Also, hair metal. Can't go wrong with 80's music in general.

Rush; they've got a lot of classics: Working Man, The Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer, and Limelight for instance.

I came into this thread to suggest Rush, but It has already been done

But I'd say, Old school Feeder, like the Echo Park album, or Polythene, are both really good. Also their latest album is pretty cool to drive to.

Modest Mouse - Dashboard, and Float on. Both good songs

I know you said classics, but stuff that

Foo Fighters man, great stuff.
Coheed and Cambria aswell - Basically the whole of SSTB
Lenny Kravitz

dude, holy shit. my sister put this on my ipod when she was a junkie. that and Tarantula. I was like, 9 at the time. So, I was standing in our porch (it was like, this weird indoor porch that was really big. It was my room for quite some time), standing in the doorway that lead to our giant ass backyard. I Tarantula and was like, "what the hell is this?" *clicks play* "GAY!" *it keeps playing* "whaa... what is happening to me??" *spazzes and collapses on the floor*

Looking back on that moment, since I just remembered it, that was like, my first high. It was pretty ****ed up. Has that ever happened to anyone else? like, where a song is trippy but awesome that it literally sends you a trip?
