I'd feel like I would break it. I bet it sounds nice, though.

Bit pointless...

5 Watts is fine for bedroom practice, 1 watt is just...pointless IMO, too small for anything.

Unless it was like a 1 watt valve pocket amp, cos there's an obvious gimmick there, but this is a bit silly to me =/

Either way...I guess it's alright, though I still think it's a bit of a shit idea.
#14
1 watt is plenty loud for bedroom playing. With your average 12" guitar speaker it will easily do 95 decibels not overdriven at one meter. That's enough to do hearing damage.

My guesses are that it's one channel. Looks like it has only 4 dials and probably just one tube.
Do we know for sure that it's 1 watt?

It would be real nice to have an easily modifiable Blackstar amp available, but I think it'll be a while before any schematics start popping up.

i didn't see greg's post.

wow do they have room to fit all the opamps in that thing?

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Depends on whether or not they have a headphone/speaker sim included.

I like it. There's definitely a need for it, the HT-5 isn't the best sounding at low volumes and if you live in a flat there's not much opportunity for playing loud. It'd also make a good recording amp, I would think.

If its nothing like the HT5 im interested.

But id probably never buy it.

I dont really expect it to be like $99 either, considering the price of the HT5.

I dunno. The HT line preamp is diode clipping with a tube thrown in so I dunno why they'd mix it up.

Because people are stupid. I never understand why people are so mad for no reason if you have xbox live you would know what im talking about. If it was 1 watt and $100 I would buy it for a practice amp. Boosted HT5's sound pretty sweet to my ears
what kind of palm muting is best for metal?
cut off some guys hand and place it under the strings. brutal low end bro.
#37
I find it funny how people are hearing this amp with their eyes. Even if they made the greatest sounding low wattage amp ever, people would diss it based on their chosen circuit and their use of diode clipping.
#38
Well, we cant hear it with our ears.

And were all miserable as ****, so we're going to sit here and piss on blackstars chips untill they announce that it makes toast or something.

And how would the diodes be used without any gain control?

It doesn't make a difference. The Tubescreamer could do away with the volume control and label the gain as the volume and the gain control would act like a volume control on a non master volume amp. The diodes are presented with enough input voltage and they clip, much like a tube but in a different way.

EDIT: Where are you getting that there's no gain control? I don't see anything relating to that in the thread.
