Im thinking about buying a sea foam green strat, and putting some jazzmaster pickups on it. What's everyone think ?
I'd love a jazzmaster, just too expensive !

You do know that a big part of the Jazzmaster sound is the bridge design right?

Not only that, but you're not gonna have the same wiring as a jazzy. You're also gonna have to do some routing.
You also may want to check GFS for jazzy pups. I've heard great things about the pups they sell, and they'll be loads cheaper then 'real' jazzy pups.

The wiring and bridge arent huge parts, but if you want it to sound almost 100% youll need them. I recently just put some jm pickups on a telecaster, aka jazzcaster. I found a guy that puts the jm pickups into a shallow dog ear cover and it just sits on top of the guitar, no routing required. I have the pickups wired to a three way switch. It sounds great, so great idea on this i agree jm are awesome but way to expensive.

Good Luck

Seafoam green? I like this already. Sounds ballsy.

Anyways, what are you panning on doing for a pickguard? Using a strat style one that has been modded a little or JM style one?

I guess you're right that the wiring isn't as important, but the bridge is a must IMO.

Also TS if you want I can email you a link to GPR, and it has a premade block that you can use to block the trem routing. That should save you some time.
I'm thinking of getting one so I can get rid of the trem on my jagmaster, and put a mustang bridge, and a bigsby at some point.

I think TS should get this, and then route the guard a bit.

This seems like a cool idea, i like the sea foam green on Fender guitars, it gives them a real vintage look.

looking forward to pics.

Also, there's a button at the bottom of your posts, it looks like this:

It makes it so if you have already had a post recently, you don't need to make a new one. I'm not gonna report you or anything, just saying that it is technically against the rules to double post.

Although it's one of the looser rules, and doesn't really matter if you are bumping your thread with updates, like you did saying you got the guitar.

Sorry if these are huge =/

I've ordered some Jazzmaster pickups from GFS too so they should be here soon, Then im gonna measure up and order a custom cut pickguard. Probably gonna have to make it a little bigger than a strat one, I'm thinking about making it a little taller, and extending it onto the top horn a little, similar to a jazzmaster one!

The last one is a mockup i did! ( i know it's a hardtail on the mockup, but it's just for looks with the pickups really

I like it, but I find it weird where you put the switch and volume knob.

Personally, I would have put the vol. knob near where the switch is so I could use my pinky to adjust it; I'd probably put the switch on the lower horn.

I was gonna put it on the bottom horn, but thought it would probably cost more for routing and stuff haha but i like it where it is

Looks awsome man! i was planning on doing the opposite in the future, a jazzmaster style body, but strat features, such as bridge and pickups, maybe a mid boost switch where the rhythm circuit usually is haha

I too would like some clips
