Yes we all know by the title the amp company is a tribute to Dime, i really seem to love the tone Dimebag is getting on his Deans. and $349 for a 120W Dime head just seems too good to be true for me and another $349 and the 4x12 Cab. I just want to get the opinions of people that have tried these before. $700 just seems too good to be true for a Dimebag half stack with a boost switch and footswitch included.

$700 for a half stack to good to be true?

Marshall MG is about $100 cheaper, go with that.

srsly though, it's probably not that great...I mean, I think Dean is just trying to wh0re Dimebag's name even more.

Yes I have a thought. Even though I'm not a big Dimebag fan I think its pathetic that companies are raping his name to make money. Which is exactly what this line of amps is doing.

Now, if you really loved the tone Dime got with his Deans, then why the heck are you looking at Dime amps? Look for something the man actually used if you want his tone.

IMHO, he should be looking for his own sound. Nothing wrong with wanting to try and sound like Dime, but copying other guitarists isn't to creative.

I personally dont have any experience with them but they sounded a bit like a randall in the clips. Thats about all i know. Dimes tone is probably not something you should be striving for rest his soul. Good player. Shite tone.

I'm sorry but this got me way too hard.

TS you may not be able to get the exact Randall he used but I'm most certain you could get a similar tone from a Randall RH150G3 and a Furman PQ4 or similar parametric eqs.

I have every Pantera album and I have to say that Dimebag's tone when he was in Damageplan using a Krank slays his Pantera tone. He was a great player but his tone with Pantera sucked.
I'm waiting to see Dimebag condoms. There seems to be no end to the cashing in on his name.

I can guarantee you Dean has made more money just using Dimes name, than Dimebag ever did in his entire career.

Its sad, and pathetic.

Are you after a dime type sound at bedroom levels?

If so maybe a silencer can help reduce the noise.

Do you mean a Power attenuator? If so then they won't actually do much for the volume. A much better solution is something like speaker out --> THD Hotplate (for example) --> Poweramp --> cabinet. That way you have power attenuation as well as volume control, but that's a costly setup

For Dime's tone i recommend 2 options;

1. Randall Warheads with Bill Lawrence pickups
2. Krank Krankenstein with same pickups (optional), probably one of the signature amps that i actually approve of.
No ego-inflating quotes nor stupidly long signatures to be found here.

Move along.

I've played one...It was decent actually. Felt like a mid range Randall to me. Something that was kinda trippy was there wasnt a channel selector, just volume knobs for both channels, so you could have the clean channel going while the distortion was too. It gave it a really weird but kinda cool sound. Not sure what thats for but I found it kinda neat to mess around with. Cleans were alright, distortion was passable for Dime's tone, which sounds good on albums, but live I always thought it wasnt that good for rhythm guitar, yet good for lead. Its a good cheap head, but I would save up for a real tube head before I dropped $350 for it new.
