Well, yeah this is a long overdue one.

I only have a couple of pictures so far since I don't own a digital camera, so excuse the crappy cell phone pictures.

Without further ado, meet my new rig:

The Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 in Charcoal Black:

PRS actually gave me a free flamed 10-top on this guitar, and that makes me extremely happy!

Meet the ENGL Powerball:

My new rig:

Now...I just need to buy a cab (probably going to be an Orange 4x12 or a Mesa 4x12)!

Nice!

I'd suggest something other than those 2 cabs though if you're buying new. I used to think my 4x12s were awesome, but after playing my 1x12 Emperor and then playing a 4x12 last week, the difference is giant. There are better cabs out there for the price

Awesome! The PRS looks great despite the pictures.

Definitely, be sure to check out hand builders for cabs. Emperor, Port City, Ear Candy, etc.

HNGD! Is that a Powerball I or II? You might find yourself having trouble cutting through a mix if it's the I (I've heard an EQ in the loop does wonders for that, though).

Bangin! At first I misread that and thought you got the whole guitar for free!

Congratz dude, enjoy it.

Hmm... Now, this is just speculation, but maybe that's why it didn't cut through for you.

112s are far and away my favorite, even with higher gain levels... congrats on a new gear day. I just don't know how you can stand to look at that Engl without a cab to plug it into!

I've never played one, actually, I've just heard they don't cut through well. They sound scooped in clips I've heard, too.

Also, my Valveking is actually TOO middy from the get-go.

Also OP, you have to post reviews or video clips otherwise this'll get closed...

Well I might end up settling for a 2x12 in the meantime since I'm really lacking in funds after this! I've never heard of Emperor before, but I think I might check them out. How would you describe them in terms of their sound?

It actually looks amazing in person. Getting too close makes me spontaneously have to change my shorts.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll look for some. It's a Powerball I V2, with the logarithmic treble switch (I've heard...not sure if this is true) and improved noise gate (among other things?). With cutting through, can't you just boost the mids, and go easy on the gain and adjust the bass and treble to taste? And they probably sound scooped because they are scooped lol.

Oh, I should probably post a review then. Will get to doing that!

I'm not sure. I ordered it through one of my favorite dealers and they're not sure how it happened either. But they were really happy for me. My original purchase was just a PRS Custom 24 with a W/T neck in Charcoal Black.

Haha don't worry that thing is long gone =P.

It was a great amp, but not so good for what I was going into haha.

I sold it back in like February for $1300!

Haha will do. I'm looking for cabs to buy. I'm looking for a tight bass, awesome non ice-picky, but clear trebles and a mid-range that really projects

Mine cost only $2600-ish. So worth it though.
