I have a 2010 Blues Junior that i haven't touched, no changing tubes, speakers, or any other mods. i haven't even messed with the bias.

i was wondering how to make the Blues Junior have more headroom, if this is possible by changing tubes, speakers, or is even possible.

i have no experience modding amps so if you have a suggestion if you could direct me to a youtube clip or other site telling me how to do it i would appreciate it.

and if i could also mod it with an effects loop, i would like to do that too, but it is not totally neccessary.

Seriously though i'm pretty sure we have a blues junior modding thread. Let me find it i'll be back in a sec.

EDIT: I failed .. there's a valve junior thread. i was thinking of it. here's a link just incase https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=492580&highlight=epi+valve+junior

i search barred it and there is one where a guy modded the hell out of his blues junior, but from what i could see, not for more headroom or an effects loop.

This is what you can do, replace the tubes with some hard rated tubes, so they will start to break up later, typically JJ's are hard tubes.

Second, a larger speaker, prolly just a 12in for now, the bigger the speaker, the more air it'll move, thus, it'll sound louder without having to push the amp harder.

What's the Epi Valve Junior got anything to do with this?

i believe it comes stock with a 12 in speaker, but i have heard something about more efficient speakers. does this increase the headroom, and if so could you reccomend me some?

and i still haven't gotten word on my effects loop mod

Uh, there's alot out there, Emenice Man O War, Vintage-30. You can go here: http://wgs4.com/ and shop around for speaker, they make excellent speakers for a good price.

As for an effects loop, no idea, that would require messing around inside the amp and that's a big no no if you don't know what your doing, amps have enough stored volts in them to kill you easily.

Check this out, there's a mod for swapping a few caps for better head room and you could email him about adding an effects loop.
