the title is stolen from a song that this has little relation to

a ghost conductor in the black frost fields of august night
lit by the yellow-white hum of venus
throws up his summer-warm shimmering arms
and asks that all known notes be played at once:

a baby owl skreiks,
howling crazy loud for food
and shattering windows

the frogs begin their hum,
making the water shudder,
making the ground grow colder

bats dart through the trees
crashing rubber-slick wings
through the plum-warm breeze

boar begin their battle march through the woods
snapping branches to the ground
searing for war-paint/warm-blood,
making deer dart out into the nothingness to hide
to save their warm brown bodies from the cool blue night

and insect-noises reverberate
in shuddering snores
as moths circle their sugar-frosted moons,
clapping dusty wings in whispered applause,
until, without warning, a car engine begins to growl.
There's only one thing we can do to thwart the plot of these albino shape-shifting lizard BITCHES!
