Hi. On my bass amp there is a dial named "Notch". The amp in question is a Kustom KBA30, can anyone tell me what this dial does? It sounds different when I turn it but I can't really describe it, any help? Cheers.
It is known as a notch filter- it basically knocks off 15db at a particular frequency or frequency range. They're mainly used to dial out problem overtones.
OK cool I'll start experimenting with it, see if I can get a good tone out of it
It's not really for that. It's more for when the acoustics of a room and certain overtones cause problems, as well as for dismount out feedback.
