hi guys my crate v50 is acting up, i've had it less than 2 years so i still have warranty on it but i called and i have to take a 2.5 hour drive just to get to the nearest repair center. Further, they said if its tubes that went bad, then thats not even covered under warranty. To save myself a 2.5 hour drive only to find out that its not covered, i wanted to check the two power tubes first because someone told me it could be that. Can i just take them out and look for burn marks or open connections (almost like checking a fuse) or do i have to do something else to verify whether the tubes need replacement?

Tubes break in much the same way as light bulbs, because they operate in a similar fashion. You should be able to see obvious damage in the tubes, like scorching or broken filaments or whatever.
