Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with she Schecter Damien Elite 8 String?

I've found one online for $800 Australian dollars which is half the price of a damien elite 7 string...
Only thing is, I have $1000, but I'm 'technically' not supposed to spend it which is why I'm selling my 7 string Ibanez but if I want the 8 string I need to buy it today, the ebay auction for my 7 string doesnt end till tomorrow and it doesnt have any bids.
So should I risk it spend $800 on this beast and hope the Ibanez sells or should I just let it fly?
I bought the Ibanez hoping a 7 string would be enough of an extended range, but it isnt.
Also this was my first Ibanez, and I didnt realise how thin the necks were, I've been playing Schecter for about 3 years now and theyre just perfect for me.

Here's a pic of it, im not too sure if I like the metallic black, looks too "Edward Cullen" if you know what I mean.

Your Advice would be much appreciated.

How much you selling the 7-string for?
How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?

Twelve. One to change the bulb and eleven to say they could do it better.

FWIW, I would never buy a Schecter 7 string, let alone an 8 string... that neck looks bigger than me!

Hope you like it, cause you're all in it now.

Well im currently using a 7 string, and I do use the 7 string a lot actually.
The 8th string will come in handy playing meshuggah, new the acacia strain... and best of all

Spending money you technically shouldn't spend is also very risky business.

Yeah Dino Cazares does use one, he has an incredible alternate picking speed.
The whole point behind me buying the 8 string is because I've just started a prog metal band where it is only me and the drummer, im gonna be using loop pedals live and I need the 8th string for more range to crease somewhat of a bass tone.
Along with that I find polyrhythms will sound more interesting with a lower note instead of on the 'e' string which isnt really that low.
