I think Joan Jet can be considered as one but im not too sure if she did solos and the like
Whoever said the telecasters were only made for country deserves a banjo slapping.

Dave Mustaine.
Marshall amplifiers are the truest purveyors of rock and roll known to man.

joan jett totally can be considered one. she does some of solos but leaves it to her other guitarist but Lita Ford from the runaways was a kick ass guitar player. she did all the solos.

Well, in California, people carry around devices that control the minds of bears. So expect to see people walking their bears.

Also, don't be surprised if some robot hookers try to solicit sex to you on the streets.

What was the girl's name from Heart? I know she didn't do ALL of the solos but she's still a legit as hell player. Also Joan Jett, the girl from Ash (pretty hawt too I might add), and Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth (she did play guitar on some songs and was pretty dang good).
Epiphone Dot

By high-gain I don't mean stupid stuff. I just mean styles like Motley Crue or Iron Maiden

I've never seen Joan Jett play anything other than chords. Nancy Wilson from Heart is pretty good on guitar but, she didn't play much in the way of lead in the band. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of both. This is an observation, not a criticism.

I think Orianthi is totally amazing. She is the most impressive female guitar player since April Lawton. For those of you who are too young to remember her, she has a web site. www.aprillawton.com

no I don't know any girl lead guitarists, the only ones I know that know what a guitar is are the ones in my kitchen, currently making my sandwich...
