I've been thinking, it seems like people are really dependent on the Internet and computerized technology these days. So, what would happen if for whatever reason, they no longer existed? Like, let's say some kind of electromagnetic ion ray from an alien spaceship rendered any kind of computerized device completely useless, and all the computers in the world just stopped working. The aliens aren't attacking or anything, they just thought it would be super funny. Could you still go about your daily life?

Remember, this is any digital device. So, that includes cell phones, and thanks to the phase-out of analog broadcasting, TV too.

I probably could. In a lot of ways, I think it might be better for society. I know it sounds like some crappy sci-fi movie, but I think that our reliance on technology is gonna backfire on us someday.

Yeh, probably.

But being someone whose had the internet cut for a day or two - it's like losing a limb.

There would be a period of adjustment and the fetal position but eventually i'd be ok - i'd miss talking to my friends and random people.

I could. Just keep phone numbers written down. When I go for periods of time with the internet, I just read whenever I can. I'd get through so much if I didn't have the internet to distract me.
#6
I think I could. But then again, life could get boring after 3-4 weeks. So I'll say,no.

It'd probably be hard at first for me but I'd get used to it. Sadly our civilization wouldn't and we'd probably all die anyways, but hey, I'd at least try!

I did for 14 years of my life. I'd just have to spend a lot more time in the library for school work.

i'd have to go and make the effort when pulling, as my major source of pr0n would be gone but actaully, it would be worth it, but just so much goddamn work and money involved.

Yes, as long as I knew everyone else also had to. They are so very useful but also annoying and wasteful.

In the end it would be much better for me. I'd play way more guitar than I do now.

I don't have many marketable skills aside from the computer and internet, so I suppose I'd be out of a job and would probably eventually starve to death since everyone else probably will end up taking all the manual labor jobs.

Nope, I would start having to buy CD's again, etc etc.

Shouldn't this have a poll?

It would be a lot harder keeping in touch with my LDR girlfriend, no Skype+webcam, just calling isn't the same.

I couldn't really.

Easily, it would force me to go outside and actually do something in this boring town.

And get most of the fat kids off their ass and outside which in turn they will loose weight and no longer be fat.

Not at all. When I'm not playing guitar, I'm spending my free time with video games and the internet.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Fuck no.

Yeah, I'm about to edit one in.

EDIT: Shit, I forgot how to make a poll. There's no option for it or whatever.

Well, considering my guitar has active pickups and my current amp is a digital modeling amp, probably not.

Of course, there's always my strat copy and DIY amp that may survive.

(I could do it easily.)

I did for more than 20 years and it was great. I had to get all my tabs from magazines though, but buying magazines was fun.

No, I do too much shopping/communicating on the internet. It makes things a lot easier/cheaper.

I still have a box of guitar magazines going back all the way to the late 80's that I still refer to tab for sometimes.

My box of porn mags stashed in the garage hasn't been used in a long time however bahaha!

I'd be annoyed, but if everyone is in the same boat then yes. It's not like I'm suddenly going to die. It would be much harder to organise things however, like meeting up with friends back in my university city. Would also make organising army things a bitch. All of that stuff is done by email.

Yeah with out electronics people would have to go out and do shit and socialize. Forcing people to be creative on how to spend their free time. Kids need to go out actually but I barely see little twerps playing outside and they're not fat

There is alot of good that can come out of cutting internet

I stopped having fun after I got the internet. I love it when my laptop breaks, it breaks the temptation.

Facebook is handy for keeping in touch with old flames, for shagging purposes, but that's about it. Occasionally video call with someone who's moved too far away, but tbh I should probably have stopped talking to them when they moved.

If I have kids, I'm probably gonna limit their use of the Internet, video games etc. Looking back, I wasted so much of my childhood like that, because my parents just let me waste the whole day with that shit. Still, up until I was like 10, I still went outside and rode bikes and shit like that, but it's the reason my middle school and high school years sucked so bad. I should have been playing football or some such shit instead of just dicking around with computers and video games all day.
